The ISSA hosted its 12th Annual Winter Kids Day Jan. 14 for families from the
Spina Bifida Association of Iowa, the ISSA's official charity. Due to poor snow
conditions, organizers had to once again revert to UTV rides for the kids at
Huxley, escorted by the local police department.
Supporting Spina Bifida Families Since 1982
Snowmobilers in Iowa have been supporting the needs of families from
the Spina Bifida Association of Iowa (SBAIA) since 1982. As the ISSA's official
charity, clubs have donated more than $250,000 to the non-profit organization
over the past 35 years.
An ISSA liaison serves on the SBAIA board, and each fall, club members
participate in the SBAIA's Walk-N-Roll fundraiser at Principal Park in Des
Moines. In January, the ISSA hosts a Winter Kids Day where families from
each organization can get to know each other on a first-name basis.
Above right is the current donations from clubs for 2018.
