2018 Scholarship Applications Due April 15
Formed in 1995, the ISSA Education and Scholarship Foundation has been
supporting students from ISSA-member families since 1998. In
2017, the scholarship
program
awarded three $1,000 scholarships to deserving students.
Recipients for 2017 included Emily Parks of the Dickinson County SnowHawks of
Region 1, Carly Hassel of the Dickinson County SnowHakws of Region 1 and Kelsey
Craun of the Trail Blaz-zers of Region 5.

Applications for 2018 are available here. New this year is a fourth scholarship for
students who are already enrolled in their second- or third-year at an accredited
institution. Please check the appropriate box when filling out your application.

The deadline for applying is April 15. The top applicant forwarded onto the
international C.J. Ramstad Memorial Scholarship competition
as well.
To qualify, the student or his/her family must be in good standing with the ISSA. The
scholarship is based in part on need, and since 2012, each applicant is expected to
acquire an Expected Family Contribution (EFC) rating number from the Iowa College
Access Network at
www.icansucceed.org.
To get this number, the student will be required to fill out a Free Application for
Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at
www.fafsa.ed.gov. After filling out the FAFSA, the applicant
will receive a Student Aid Report (SAR) and be issued the required EFC number.
Applications will be judged for neatness, completeness, spelling, grammar and
school and community involvement. Student applicants are also asked to write an essay
on ‘What Snowmobiling Means to Me.’ Entries are judged anonymously, and all
decisions by the foundation are final.
